Yes, we have beds.Yes, there’s good coffee in the morning and cold beers after a dusty ride. And yes, motorcycles are always somewhere in the story. But what people remember most isn’t the place, it’s how it feels.

Somewhere along the way, Donkey Sunrise became something bigger than a guesthouse for motorcycle travelers passing through Colombia. It became a place where strangers sit down at the same table and leave as friends. Where stories are shared long after the engines cool down. Where riders from completely different worlds realize they actually have a lot in common.

A place that feels a little bit like home, even when you’re far from it.

Motorcycle travel has a special way of bringing people together. Maybe it’s the shared challenges, the unexpected moments on the road, or the simple understanding that comes from choosing adventure over comfort.

Over the years, we’ve seen friendships start here. Travel plans made over breakfast. Riders helping each other fix bikes in the workshop. People arriving solo and leaving with a small family they didn’t expect to find.

That sense of community was never something we planned as a “concept.” It just happened, because of the people who came through our doors.

And that feeling is what Donkey Sunrise has always been about. Not just riding. Not just travel. But real connection.

Why Portugal?

We know Colombia is a dream destination for many riders. But we also know that not everyone can make the trip right now. Distance, time, work, life.... sometimes the Andes feel very far away.

So we started asking ourselves a simple question:

What if we could bring the Donkey Sunrise feeling closer to home?

Portugal felt like the natural answer. Quiet mountain roads, endless off-road possibilities, welcoming culture, incredible food, and landscapes that invite exploration at a slower pace. A place where riding naturally turns into shared experiences, just like it does back in Colombia.

Not a replacement for Colombia, but as an extension of the same spirit.

This isn’t a typical motorcycle tour. It’s about recreating the atmosphere people know from Colombia:

• sharing meals, stories, and laughter
